Board Bios: Meet Garry Moïse

02.09.25

Garry Moïse is a passionate advocate for global education and community growth, serving as an educator and program director and grounded in values that guide both his personal and professional life.

As Director of the TRIO/Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) Program at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Garry provides college and career preparation services to a select group of high school students to help them navigate their futures with confidence.

In addition to this vital role, Garry is an adjunct faculty and teaches International Business, sharing his global insights and leadership experience with the next generation.

Impact Beyond the Classroom

Garry has been an active board member at Sophia Partners since 2018 and served as Vice-President in 2022 and board president from 2023-2024. His connection to this nonprofit runs deep:

“Over the past seven years, this service has been an extension of my commitment to transformative leadership, meaningful relationships, and purposeful growth,” he reflects.

Sophia’s core values—transformation, wholeness, community-building, compassion, spirituality, and stewardship—continue to shape how he leads, serves, educates, and makes decisions.

In turn, his lived experiences—mentoring aspiring leaders, navigating institutional and organizational systems, as well as engaging in community work—enrich his contributions to the board with practical insight, empathy, commitment and integrity.

Fond du Lac Community Builder

Garry and his wife, Claudia, are raising their three children—two sons and a daughter—in the heart of Fond du Lac. His love for the community is evident in the way he shows up for it.

  • In January 2023, he was honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award at the Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast held at Marian University, recognizing his lasting impact on youth, education, and equity.
  • In August 2018, he gave a presentation at TEDxFondduLac on the topic of “Serving and Leading with a Quality Mindset.”

Outside of his professional and civic roles, Garry finds joy and balance in creative pursuits, including: gardening, nature photography, blogging, cooking, digital arts, and music.

From mentoring young leaders to engaging in local initiatives, Garry brings empathy, insight, and integrity to all that he does.

Remembering the Roots: Honoring Servant Leadership’s Origins

Every year, organizations recognize leaders for accomplishments like revenue growth, innovation, market share, or operational excellence.

But the Ann McGee-Cooper Spirit of Servant-Leadership Award celebrates something different. It asks a question that goes beyond results: “Who did this person help become their best self?”

Presented by Sophia Partners to Dr. Richard Kyte at Viterbo University’s Conference on Servant Leadership on June 25, 2026, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the award reminds us that the greatest measure of leadership isn’t found in a title or a résumé.

It’s found in the lives we’ve influenced, the people we’ve empowered, and the communities we’ve helped strengthen.

Board Bios: Meet Mason Gravelle

A Fond du Lac native and nonprofit leader, Mason Gravelle believes thriving communities are built through collaboration, shared leadership, and meaningful relationships.

Leadership isn’t just about individual growth—it’s about strengthening workplaces, organizations, and communities.

That was evident throughout this year’s Impact Conference 2026 on June 4th, where participants consistently shared that the experience was meaningful, relevant, and energizing.
