Board Bios: Meet Kristin Steede

22.09.25 People

Life in the charming lakeside town of Winneconne is full of love, laughter, and family for Kristin Steede. She and her husband, Nick—high school sweethearts who recently celebrated 21 years of marriage—are raising their 15-year-old son, Ethan, alongside their fluffy and loyal dog, Georgie.

Kristin brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She is the AVP of Learning + Development at Verve, a Credit Union, where she has a front-row seat to the transformative power of servant leadership. Her work fuels her passion for financial well-being, which Gallup highlights as one of the five essential elements of a life well lived.

For Kristin, Sophia isn’t just an organization she supports—it’s a way of life.

She began her role on the Sophia Board of Directors in October 2021. One year later, Kristin had the privilege to be the featured speaker at the Caring Community Breakfast (read her story here!) and share her journey of transformation.

“Serving on the Sophia Board is an honor,” she shared. “I’m proud to contribute to an organization making such meaningful, life-changing impact in the community.”

Her connection with Sophia has genuinely transformed how she shows up in the world—both personally and professionally. It’s shifted the way she communicates and listens, and how she approaches relationships. Whether collaborating with colleagues or navigating heartfelt conversations at home, she feels more grounded, intentional, and empathetic.

These days, much of Kristin and her family’s free time is spent cheering on her son from the stands, traveling together, and soaking up sunshine on the water through boating, fishing, and other outdoor adventures.

Helping people thrive—both financially and personally—is not just her career, but a purpose that inspires her every day.

Board Bios: Meet Jenna Wood

Jenna Wood values creating meaningful connections and building relationships in every area of her life.

As a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, she combines her love of learning with her passion for encouraging others, guiding clients through their financial journeys at every stage of life.

Jenna attended her first Sophia Partners program in 2025, where she immediately connected with the organization’s shared value of leading others through a heart of service.

That experience deepened her commitment to servant leadership and inspired her desire to help cultivate strong leaders in Fond du Lac County.

From Goals to Growth: Navigating Change

With January wrapped up, did you have a chance to create your annual goals?

If so, what method did you use?

(Still looking to start? Read our previous blog!)

One of the powerful things about creating goals and setting intentions is that you are in control of the changes you want to make. Goals give us direction, clarity, and a sense of purpose.

Change almost always happens, even when we have the best intentions of sticking to a plan.

It’s Not Too Late to Set Your 2026 Goals

Happy New Year!

If you’re reading this and think you already missed the boat on setting resolutions for 2026, let me stop you right there.

The truth is, it’s never too late to define what you want to achieve. Whether it’s the first week of January or the middle of March, the best time to start working toward your dreams is NOW.

One study identified that 88% of those who set New Year’s Resolutions fail, even though 52% were confident of success at the beginning.

Why? Because traditional New Year’s resolutions often set us up for failure.
