Leaders Do Lunch (ONLINE)
May 19, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Topic: Servant Leadership & Emotional Hijacking
The learning and conversation this month will focus on what servant leaders do when they are emotionally hijacked! An emotional hijack is when something happens that activates the fight-or-flight response in our brains and bodies. Not only will we explore what happens when we become hijacked but how to help someone else when it happens to them. Self-awareness, self-regulation, and empathy are key!
We may not be able to prevent an emotional hijack from coming over us. However, there is a way to recognize when it is happening and help it from taking over our ability to think clearly. Join us as we explore:
- What is an emotional hijack?
- Why does it happen?
- What and who triggers you?
- How the practice of Emotional Intelligence helps us overcome emotional hijack!
Ali Starr, of Tashi Deley will be our guest facilitator. Tashi Deley was founded in 2018 to ignite “greatness” in company cultures and personal transformation through interactive keynotes, culture enhancement, and personal development. Ali says” I take pride in serving those around me by modeling the way and inspiring others to do the same.”
