SUMMARY:Servant Leadership Community of Practice
DESCRIPTION:This month’s topic: Leading Transition\nVery early in his life Robert Greenleaf heeded the advice of a college professor to “create change from inside a large institution\,” and he accomplished just that during his decades of work with AT&T. \nSo often we resign to responding to change and fail to recognize that as leaders we have both the influence\, power\, and opportunity to create the transition and change we wish to see in the world\, not simply react to it. \nUsing Dr. Henry Cloud’s\, “Necessary Endings” as a resource\, we’ll discuss: \n\nIdentifying where endings and “pruning” are critical in our leadership.\nAdopting intentional change mindsets and roles.\nPracticing foresight to help change become less daunting.\n\nThis session will be facilitated by Matt Kosec\, Principal Consultant at Matthew Kosec Consulting\, LLC. \nAbout this Conversation \nServant Leadership Community of Practice is a fully virtual offering for learning about your individual servant leadership strengths and learning new practices through small group discussion\, facilitated conversations\, and personal reflection. This event occurs on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CST via Zoom. \nProgram Overview \nCommunity of Practice sessions are amazing opportunities for any and all leaders to gather and learn from each other. Through these monthly sessions\, attendees build\, share\, and learn from others as a community of transformative leaders. It’s highly interactive and each month a different servant leadership topic is explored. Learn more about the Community of Practice program here!

SUMMARY:Servant Leadership Community of Practice
DESCRIPTION:This month’s topic: Leading by Forgiving\nAt its core\, servant leadership is about GROWTH – the growth and well-being of PEOPLE as the vehicle for caring\, healing\, connection and positive transformative change in society. Growth is not linear and often comes from mistakes. Because people have lapses in judgment or perform in ways that are less than expected\, there is a need to forgive.  \nRarely is forgiveness in the top 10 leadership qualities. Yet\, the ability of a leader to create a culture where it is safe to make mistakes\, learn and grow could have the greatest impact on individual and team performance.    \nRobert Greenleaf said\, “Anybody could lead perfect people — if there were any. But there aren’t any perfect people.” \nEverybody makes mistakes. The servant-leader not only forgives; they help people grow.   \nIn this session\, facilitated by Christa Williams\, Sophia Partners Executive Director and Learning Facilitator\, we will explore: \n\nThe power and potential of forgiveness as a servant leadership skill\nThe role of ego in limiting the ability to forgive\nForgiving others and asking for forgiveness\, creating a workplace culture for learning and growth through forgiveness\, and developing a path for self-forgiveness\n\nAbout this Conversation \nServant Leadership Community of Practice is a fully virtual offering for learning about your individual servant leadership strengths and learning new practices through small group discussion\, facilitated conversations\, and personal reflection. This event occurs on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CST via Zoom. \nProgram Overview \nCommunity of Practice sessions are amazing opportunities for any and all leaders to gather and learn from each other. SUMMARY:Servant Leadership Community of Practice
DESCRIPTION:This month’s topic: Leading (Servant Leadership) Teams\nWho’s on your team? Your mind might go right to the workplace. Often in today’s organizations we talk about team-building\, team development\, and teamwork. If we stop and consider what teams we are on\, we have many in addition to those in the workplace…family\, friends\, social\, and community.  \nYour role as a member of a team\, whether that be as a positional leader or member\, is essential to elevating that team to be a ‘servant leadership team.’ In this session we will look at the topic of leading (servant leadership) teams by: \n\nSeeing ourselves as the leader (the servant-leader) on many teams\, not just in the workplace;\nDiscussing the essential practices of workplace teams and your role as leader and follower;\nOrganizational flaws when creating workplace teams from the lens of Robert Greenleaf;\nOpportunities to strengthen teams by creating the conditions for friendship in the workplace.  \n\nThis session will be facilitated by Christa Williams\, Sophia Partners Executive Director and Learning Facilitator\, using small and large group discussion of the topic.

DESCRIPTION:This month’s topic: Thirsty for wonder…hungry for curiosity\nWhat gets in the way of wonder and curiosity for you? How do we deal with times when you know in your body and mind that something is disturbing you? \nRobert Greenleaf observed and wrote\, “Awareness is not a giver of solace—it is just the opposite. It is a disturber and an awakener.”  \nAs leaders\, we often find ourselves in situations that do not feel safe. Maybe others are looking to us for answers and there doesn’t seem to be one. Maybe something happened to us or around us that is causing us to feel disconnected from our values or what we really care about. Maybe\, we are facing a personal loss or trauma.  \nRegardless\, many people can name a time when they were starkly aware in their mind and body that something doesn’t feel right.   \nHow do we move forward as leaders from a place of fear or trauma and open up space within our mind and body that allows curiosity and positive energy to start flowing again?   \nIn this session Caroline Coughlin Lampereur will walk through processes from bringing more curiosity and wonder into our mind and body when we find ourselves feeling stuck or disturbed. \n  \nAbout this Conversation \nServant Leadership Community of Practice is a fully virtual offering for learning about your individual servant leadership strengths and learning new practices through small group discussion\, facilitated conversations\, and personal reflection.
